City Hall Plaza

Overview

City Hall Plaza is the area between Chaska City Hall, the Chaska Library, the Chaska History Center, the American Legion and several businesses. The area includes the parking lot with access off of 5th Street.

The City will be redeveloping City Hall Plaza in 2026, with these goals in mind:

• Improve accessibility
• Enhance entrances and exits
• Continue the paseo connection
• Create flexible gathering spaces

The redevelopment of City Hall Plaza is a part of the Building Improvement Program, which includes City Hall. Because the plaza is in need of repair, this work has been moved up in the timeline to 2026.

Concept Plan

The concept plan is designed to:

• Direct the paseo the current way it is going
• Have the public space wrap around City Hall
• Address the grade change with minimal maintenance
• Solve the pinchpoint issue in parking
