A sewer & water permit is required for the installation, alteration, repair or addition of any sewer & water system.
In the instance of an emergency repair, the work can be performed as long as the permit is applied for the next business day.
Permits for sewer & water work in new construction, or within 36 inches of the outer foundation of a new or existing structure, can only be applied for by contractors licensed or bonded by the State of Minnesota. That also includes those performing the work.
