Lawn Watering Ordinance

To help conserve water, we have an ordinance that covers rules for lawn watering from May 1 to September 30.

  • Properties with an odd-numbered address can water their lawns on odd-numbered days
  • Properties with an even-numbered address can water their lawns on even-numbered days
  • No watering from Noon to 4 p.m. on any day

Smart Irrigation Controller

Smart controllers link to local weather conditions to provide exact water needs for lawns and gardens saving water and money. The Rachio 3 smart sprinkler controller automatically adjusts watering schedules based on weather forecasts, soil types, plant needs, and sun exposure—eliminating unnecessary watering and helping create more efficient irrigation systems.

Carver County residents can purchase a discounted Rachio 3 smart sprinkler controller through Carver County.

Water Node System Upgrade

The City of Chaska is performing an upgrade of its water node and electric meter system. The City's authorized contractor, Allegiant Utility Services, will have a technician knock on your door when it is time to replace yours. They will have a badge and truck with both Allegiant and City of Chaska's logos.
