Chaska Community Connect
Chaska Fire has just launched a new program called community connect.
How does it work?
You build a profile for your home on our online Community Connect portal. You can put information about your property, your people, your pets, or any special needs that will help our firefighters respond to your emergency.
Any information you provide through Community Connect is completely voluntary and based on what you are comfortable sharing. We have made it easy for you to know what may be important by organizing your secure portal into buckets of information you can enter.
How is my data used?
Data that you provide Community Connect is secure and is used only for the purpose of better serving you during emergency situations. Your information is never used for any other purpose.
All logins are password protected with bank level encryption and security. If you’re comfortable logging in to your online bank you’ll be comfortable logging in to Community Connect.

Our department at a glance
The Chaska Fire Department started in 1871 as a volunteer department. It is now a Combination Fire Department, which means we have a combination of full-time and paid-on-call staff.
We have 54 firefighters responding to over 1,500 calls a year. The department is proud of its high level of service and maintains an ISO rating of 4.
All our firefighters maintain firefighting, medical, hazardous materials and other certifications to respond to all manner of emergencies.
The department is available for questions you have about your home or business in Chaska.
The City is building a public safety facility, which will have the police station and fire station, at the site of our old station. Construction is scheduled to be complete in the next few months. Check out the public safety facility project website for more information.
Currently, the fire department is operating out of a temporary fire station at 735 Victoria Dr.
Go to the Fire Inspections page to view the services provided by our Fire Marshal and Fire Inspectors.
During fire prevention week in October, firefighters are at schools to teach about the hazards of fire.
We do not have a hands-only CPR and AED training currently scheduled. Once we move into the public safety facility, we should have more information.
The Chaska Fire Department Relief Association ice fishing contest is typically held in February.
Visit the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website to view current fire danger and burning restrictions.
Reminder if you are planning to have a recreational fire, visit our recreational fire website to make sure you are following City ordinance.
We typically host our open house in September each year. Stay tuned for details for next year's event.
The Fire Department Open House is free, and there's plenty of fun activities for the whole family. You can meet the firefighters, go on a fire truck ride, get free food, and experience so much more!
Emergency Management is designed to protect citizens, save lives, and reduce property damage by maintaining a comprehensive emergency plan.
Chaska’s Emergency Management is headed by our Fire Chief who also serves as the City’s Emergency Management Director. A Deputy Director and all city departments also share a role in emergency management.
