Truth in Taxation

Under the Truth in Taxation process, the City holds a public hearing prior to adopting its annual tax levy and General Fund budget. 

Timeline for the 2026 Budget

• September
  • City Council set the maximum tax levy and preliminary budget at the September 29th meeting 
  • Watch the presentation and Council discussion
• October thru November
  • City Council will review the enterprise fund budgets in a series of work sessions
• December
  • City Council will hold a Truth in Taxation Public Hearing at the December 1st meeting
  • City Council will consider adopting the 2026 budget and establishing a final tax levy at the December 15th meeting
