City Council Highlights from the February 3rd meeting. The council made commission appointments, appointed the parks & rec commission chair and vice chair and approved advertising to be sold at the Curling Center.
Approved Curling Center Rinkside Advertising Agreement
The Chaska Curling Center (CCC) will work with Rinkside Advertising Network to sell advertising within the CCC. These advertisements can provide a new revenue stream to help fund capital improvement and replacement projects. The advertising placements will be limited to ensure the facility maintains a professional look.
Commission Appointments
There were vacant positions on the:
- City Planning Commission
- Human Rights Commission
- Parks & Recreation Commission
- Heritage Preservation Commission
All regular appointments are 3 year terms. The term for the youth members on the Human Rights Commission and Park Board Commission is 1 year. Appointments can be found on the city’s website.
Appointed Parks & Recreation Commission Chair and Vice Chair
Based on the Parks and Recreation Commission recommendation, the Council appointed Jason Branch as Commission Chair and Elizabeth Wynveen as Commission Vice-Chair for the 2025 year.
